About Us

Highlands Halfway House is a community rehabilitation facility offering therapeutic rehabilitation for psychological health problems, with special emphasis on substance dependency disorders. Currently, the drug problem has escalated worldwide, including locally. There is therefore a great need for recovery centres and Highlands Halfway House is the first private facility to offer these services in the country.

The health care facility is situated in the beautiful northern suburb of Highlands, approximately 6km from the Harare Central Business District. The environment is home-like, with patients participating in a variety of therapeutic activities and group therapy, in addition to occupational therapy, psychology and family sessions.

We admit sub-acute patients with substance use disorders, stress, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, hysteria, eating disorders, post-traumatic stress disorders, insomnia and dementia; but are not psychotic or violent. The facility is suitable for couples counselling, family therapy and HIV/AIDS related psychiatric conditions.

We also provide out-patient consultation and counselling.
